This program is a journey from the foundation to advanced topics in Intelligent systems and imaging. The courses are carefully designed for a novice in image and signal processing to become skilled in designing intelligent systems using imaging. Whether your degree is BSc in biosciences, physical sciences or from a B.Tech non-electronics branch, this course offers you to develop industry-ready skills in signal and image processing for developing advanced applications such as audio and medical imaging. There is a large volume of imaging data to be processed and analysed intelligently to solve applications such as for better health, medicine, and multimedia. Through the program you will be expected to learn:

  • Select, implement and test methods involving signal processing, pattern matching and model fitting to extract relevant information
  • Rapidly prototype methods for internal experiments and develop quality metrics and visual aid to guide early R&D
  • Create robust implementations of production algorithms to process high throughput imaging data by exploiting data properties, layout, and CPU/GPU architecture
  • Build analytical models or simulations to understand and communicate key trade-offs of imaging system design and data quality

Internship (Work-while you study program): 

IICG M.Sc Fellows: You are eligible to apply for a fellowship in Graphene and 2D materials as part of the IICG project. If selected for this internship, you are expected to work on a two-year research project involving the use of Graphene for Intelligent systems and imaging applications. Interns will receive a monthly research study allowance of Rs 10,000 for carrying out a research project.  The positions are available to those who get admitted to the program, and who would clear an internship test and interview. You will receive a link to apply to this program once admitted. (Number of positions are subject to availability of supervisors and funds, about 5-10 vacancies expected)

This program is a journey from the foundation to advanced topics in IoT and robotics. The courses are carefully designed for a novice in electronics to become skilled in designing some of IoT and Sensors in the domain of robotic systems. Whether your degree is BSc in biosciences, physical sciences or from a B.Tech non-electronics branch, this course offers you to develop industry-ready skills in sensor design, development and use in the robotics domain making extensive use of IoT. As the sensors are increasingly being used in a wide range of applications, and the devices to be smarter, the impact and reach of intelligent sensors and sensor processing applications are many. Through the program you will be expected to learn and get an experience:

  • using sensors, including accelerometers, gyroscopes, pressure sensors, thermocouples, radar, or LIDAR, from a chip/breakout board level
  • working with single board computers and microcontrollers
  • with embedded systems and embedded operating systems, including Linux, Android or other real-time operating systems
  • with PCB design, schematic design, or PCB design software
  • programing in languages, including C, C++, or Python
  • of communication protocols I2C, SPI, UART, or other protocols for system interface, programming, and debugging
  • of reading component data sheets and schematics

This program is a journey from the foundation to advanced topics in AI hardware. The courses are carefully designed for a novice in electronics to become skilled in designing some of the advanced chips. Whether your degree is BSc in biosciences, physical sciences or from a B.Tech non-electronics branch, this course offers you to make the perfect switch to the world of analogue and digital electronics chip design. With the need to have chips everywhere, the demand for highly skilled chip designers and verification engineers are on the rise. You will develop the ability to both recommend high-level architectures and also “roll up the sleeves” to code RTL, verify designs, and join post-silicon validation efforts. Through the program you will be expected to learn:

  • RTL, Logic Design: As an RTL or Logic designer, you will be defining the digital circuitry and functionality of the chips to meet the intended specifications, architecture.
  • Verification: As a verification engineer, you will be performing pre-silicon validation of the chip’s logical design and functionality. You will use state-of-the-art simulation techniques creating environments and methodologies to simulate and debug design RTL.
  • Physical Design: As a physical design engineer you will work on designing, optimizing circuit layout, clock and power distribution, optimizing buffering and wiring for best power, performance, yield and manufacturability. You will get to work with industries latest VLSI/Hardware EDA tools/flows and methodologies
  • Collaborate and communicate design status, project progress: As a member of a project team with other engineers you will partner to develop a reliable, cost-effective and high-quality VLSI solution

Any branch of BSc/B.Tech/BCA/MBBS with minimum 60% in qualifying examination.

Relaxation in qualifying examination percentage applicable as per University norms for SC/ST/SEBC/Divyaang category candidates.

Entry-level requirement is a minimum score of 60 percentage marks OR CPI/CGPA of 6.5 or above in 10 points in the qualifying degree. Rounding off of marks is not allowed. A candidate with CGPA less than 6.5 will also be eligible if the equivalent percentage for graduation is above 60% as per the respective university norms for conversion from CGPA to percentage. In such a case, the candidate will have to produce the official document or percentage equivalence certificate from the respective university showing CGPA to percentage conversion norms, at the time of admission. Students who have scored less than 60% in their graduation degree are not eligible for admission to the courses of Digital University Kerala. Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Persons with Disability categories are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination. SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination, provided that the candidates have passed the examination.

  • The selection to all MTech and MSc programmes of Digital University Kerala will be through a common admission process.
  • Prospective students will have to either (i) clear the Digital University Aptitude Test (DUAT) Or (ii) possess a valid GATE/NET score in a relevant discipline.
  • For MTech programs preference will be given to the GATE qualified candidates.
  • The cut off for the DUAT score for shortlisting is decided by the individual Schools on yearly basis and can vary from one school to another.

  • The short-listed students will be interviewed and provisionally selected based on their cumulative performance in the interview and the qualifying test scores. The weightage for the qualification score and interview shall be defined by the individual Schools based on the needs of the programme.
