Post Graduate Diploma in e-Governance (PGDeG) was launched by Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management – Kerala (IIITM-K) and Institute of Management in Governance (IMG) to fulfill its mission to mould leaders in the areas of science, technology and management and to address the Capacity Building in the area of e-Governance. PGDeG was directed at employees of government departments, public sector undertakings and organization’s providing IT services to government bodies.

A total number of 9 batches has been successfully completed. Now IIITM-K has been upgraded to Digital University Kerala and the University has requested the Government to conduct the PGDeG programme under Digital University Kerala. The course certification will be done by Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology.

Number of Seats: 40 nos.

  • Government Officials – 15 (selection will be done by Kerala State IT Mission).
  • Officials from Autonomous institutions, Boards, Corporations, Universities, Public Sector Undertakings etc. under the State of Kerala – 15 (selection will be done by Kerala State IT Mission).
  • Open Category – 10 (Open category SC and ST applicants will be eligible for reservation as per Government Rules.)

Notification for PGDeG 2024-25.

  • The candidate need to upload documents proving age and qualification, NOC, deployment plan and selection criteria along with the application. A format containing details regarding NOC, deployment plan and selection criteria attached herewith for uploading in DUK application portal, under“Documents Upload”
  • Also, in Documents Upload TAB, it is written that “it is mandatory to upload photograph, signature and ID proof only and the rest of the documents need to be uploaded only by the shortlisted candidates before admission counselling”. Please note that, NOC, deployment plan and selection criteria from HoDs are also mandatory for PGDeG selection process. Hence, kindly update the same as follows:

Government officials and others can avail the service of Government Contact Center- Kerala for any queries and for getting other information related to PGDeG. Hence the toll free number of Government Contact Center – Kerala (0471 155300) can be included in the PGDEG application portal page of Digital University.

Entry-level requirement for the programme is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with working knowledge of computer systems. Diploma / Certification in computer application will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to B.Tech / MBA / MCA degree holders.

Governments at the Central and State levels are on the processes of planning and implementing Digital Transformation projects. Indian IT Industry plays a major role in consulting and implementation of these projects. The candidates with knowledge and skill sets in e-Governance could find promising opportunities in Industry and Implementation Agencies.

Kerala Government Departments

  • Kerala Government Departments can nominate maximum three candidates to the Director Kerala State IT Mission
  • The age limit will be 45 years as on 1st January 2024.
  • Departmental Candidates are first shortlisted based on their profiles and final selection is made through test and interview.
  • The department shall forward the NOC for deputation for one year.

Sponsored Category

Central Government, other State Governments and Private Organizations could sponsor their employees through proper channel directly to the Digital University Campus.

Open Category

Eligible candidates from the open category are selected through a competitive entrance examination followed by an interview.

e-Governance Initiatives at DIGITAL UNIVERSITY KERALA

DUK has conceptualized, designed and implemented various e-Governance projects for State and Central Government organizations. State Planning Board, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry departments, ICAR, Land Use Board, Rubber Board are some of the government projects implemented by DUK. DUK also provides consultancy services to various government departments.


All the core and visiting faculty members of the programme have been carefully chosen from Academia, Industry and the Government based on their relevant experience, commitment and instructional ability so that the students are exposed to the best learning environment. Besides this, the Institute has several competent senior academic and technical staff with considerable experience in the design, development and management of ICT and e-Governance projects also supports the academic and training programmes.
