Sooraj N P serves as Assistant Professor and Chair of the School of Informatics at Digital University Kerala. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science and a Master’s degree in Environmental Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology.

With more than 12 years of experience in teaching and research across diverse academic roles, Sooraj’s work lies at the intersection of informatics and environmental science. His research interests include Terrestrial Ecosystem Studies, Earth Observation and Geoinformatics, Ecological Informatics, Environmental Sustainability, Coupled Human–Environment Systems, and Nature-based Solutions. He is particularly interested in applying informatics and data-driven approaches to address ecological and sustainability challenges. As an educator and mentor, he teaches at the Master’s and Doctoral levels, emphasizing structured discussions, analytical exercises, and applied learning. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, he actively contributes to institutional initiatives and serves on academic and administrative committees.
