Associate Professor

Dr. I. Suresh currently holds the position of Associate Professor and Chair of the School of Informatics at DUK. Before joining DUK, he served as the Principal Scientist at the CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography in Goa, India. Dr. Suresh’s extensive research focuses on unraveling the processes that govern sea-level variability in the northern Indian Ocean across various time scales, utilizing a combination of observational data and ocean model simulations. His expertise also extends to understanding the profound impact of ocean dynamics on the bio-geochemistry of the North Indian Ocean. His primary research interests encompass ocean-atmospheric dynamics and interactions, bio-physical processes, the impacts of climate change on Indian Ocean physics, biogeochemistry, and ecology, ocean and climate modeling, tsunamis propagation modeling, and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in ocean and climate science.
