Center for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), Thrissur, is a premier research laboratory under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, dedicated to the development of advanced electronic materials, components, and devices. Established as part of C-MET’s national network in 1990, the Thrissur laboratory specializes in areas such as electronic ceramics, microwave dielectric materials, sensors and actuators, nanomaterials, thin films, and emerging technologies like graphene-based supercapacitors. It plays a key role in bridging fundamental research and industry applications, particularly through initiatives like the Centre of Excellence in Intelligent IoT Sensors and collaborations with industry partners to develop market-ready technologies. With state-of-the-art infrastructure and a strong focus on translational research, C-MET Thrissur contributes significantly to India’s efforts toward self-reliance in electronic materials and sensor technologies, supporting innovation, manufacturing, and strategic sectors.

ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (ICAR-CTCRI), headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a premier institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research dedicated exclusively to research on tropical tuber crops such as cassava, sweet potato, yams, and taro. Established in 1963, it is the only institute of its kind in the world focusing solely on these crops and plays a crucial role in enhancing food and nutritional security, especially in tropical regions. The institute undertakes basic, strategic, and applied research in areas such as crop improvement, sustainable production, pest and disease management, and value addition technologies. Over the decades, ICAR-CTCRI has developed numerous improved crop varieties, conserved thousands of germplasm resources, and pioneered innovations including biofortified crops and smart farming solutions. Through its research, training, and technology transfer initiatives, the institute significantly contributes to improving farmer livelihoods, promoting sustainable agriculture, and supporting agro-based industries in India and beyond.
