Ajith Kumar R is an academic leader, researcher, and technology strategist with over two decades of experience across teaching, research, consulting, and enterprise system development. He serves as Director of the Centre for Digital Innovation and Product Development (CDIPD) and Assistant Professor at School of Digital Sciences. He holds a PhD in Information Systems Management from Cochin University of Science and Technology and completed the Senior Leadership Program at IIM Lucknow. His expertise spans digital innovation, enterprise architecture, ERP, data science, artificial intelligence, and smart agriculture systems. As founding Director of CDIPD, he led the center to achieve CMMI Level 3 certification, the first such certification among universities in India, establishing it as a Centre of Excellence with GDPR-compliant frameworks for international collaborations. He leads a multidisciplinary team of 100+ professionals delivering solutions across enterprise systems, AI-driven analytics, governance platforms, and agri-tech, has successfully implemented over 40 large-scale projects, and secured more than ₹200 crores in research funding.

Earlier, Ajith contributed to genome informatics research at the Monsanto Research Centre, IISc, earning the prestigious Monsanto Global Above and Beyond Award. He conceptualized the Digital Agri Sciences Lab and established Kerala’s first integrated Tier 3 Certified SMART Data Centre. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is a sought-after speaker at national and international forums. His work has been recognized with the Digital India National Award (presented by the President of India), e-India National Award, Stockholm Challenge Award, South Asian Awards, and multiple Kerala State e-Governance Awards. He also serves on policy and governance bodies including the Cyber Council at SNGOU and as Chairman of the e- Governance working group under Kerala’s Seventh Finance Commission.
