MSc in Computer Science with specialization in Cyber Security program is designed to address the growing need for skilled professionals capable of safeguarding digital systems, networks, and data against evolving cyber threats. The program provides a strong foundation in core computer science concepts while offering advanced knowledge in cyber security principles, tools, and practices. Students are trained to analyze vulnerabilities, detect and mitigate cyber attacks, and design secure computing systems for a wide range of real-world applications. By integrating theoretical learning with hands-on experience, the program prepares graduates to tackle complex security challenges in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
The curriculum emphasises key areas such as cryptography, network security, system security, ethical hacking, and secure software development, along with emerging topics like AI in cyber security and threat intelligence. Through a combination of coursework, labs, and project-based learning, students develop practical skills in identifying security risks, performing vulnerability assessments, and implementing robust defence mechanisms. The program also encourages awareness of legal, ethical, and governance aspects of cyber security. Graduates are well-equipped for roles such as Cyber Security Analyst, Ethical Hacker, Cryptography Engineer, and IT Auditor, as well as for pursuing advanced research and PhD studies in cyber security.
A candidate is eligible for admission to the MSc in Computer Science with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence/ Cyber Security program if they possess either:
- a 3-year/6-semester Bachelor’s degree at Level 5.5 on the NHEQF
- a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree at Level 6.0 on the NHEQF
with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (or equivalent, with relaxation for reserved categories as per University norms).
In addition, the candidate must satisfy at least one of the following:
- A valid GATE score
- A CUET-PG score in any of the following question paper codes: SCQP06, SCQP09, SCQP19, SCQP24, SCQP27; the cut-off score may be decided by the School
- Qualification in the Digital University Aptitude Test
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: The graduates of this program can get hired as Machine Learning Researchers, AI Engineer, Data Mining and Analysis, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist and Business Intelligence (BI) Developer.
CYBER SECURITY : The graduates of this program can get hired as Cryptography, Ethical Hacker, IT Auditor, Software Engineer, Security Engineer, Penetration and Vulnerability Tester, Security Analyst, Security Consultant, etc. Further, graduates of this program will be able to pursue PhD research in cybersecurity.

MERIT-CUM-MEANS SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit Cum Means (MCM) Scholarship (except that of Flexible and Executive Masters Programs) 20% of the BPL category students eligible for MCM Scholarship from the University. The value of the scholarship shall be equivalent to 50% of their Tuition Fee for all semesters. The eligibility shall be based on the annual income of the parent and the merits of the students.
