MTech in Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence is designed to address the rapidly growing demand for skilled professionals in AI, a field that continues to expand significantly, with the global AI market projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 27–30% between 2025 and 2030, increasing from about $244 billion in 2025 to nearly $827 billion by 2030. The program aims to bridge the gap between industry needs and the availability of trained experts by equipping students with advanced knowledge and practical expertise in AI technologies. It focuses on intelligence exhibited by machines and promotes a hybrid intelligence approach, where AI systems work collaboratively with humans to solve complex problems. The program emphasizes both technical depth and an understanding of social and human perspectives, enabling students to design intelligent systems that are effective, responsible, and impactful across industries.

The curriculum provides a strong foundation in the principles and technologies underlying artificial intelligence, including logic, knowledge representation, probabilistic models, and machine learning. It emphasizes key capabilities such as decision-making, problem-solving, perception, and understanding human communication, including natural language processing and translation. Students have opportunities to explore advanced topics such as robotics, computer vision, and natural language processing through specialized courses and research-oriented projects. MTech in Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Cyber Security Engineering is designed to address the rapidly increasing demand for skilled professionals capable of protecting digital systems, networks, and data from sophisticated cyber threats. In an era where society is deeply dependent on interconnected devices and data-driven technologies, the need for advanced cyber security expertise has become critical. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills required to identify vulnerabilities, analyze threats, and design robust security solutions.

Recognizing the growing complexity and scale of cyber-attacks, the program integrates artificial intelligence (AI) as a key component in modern cyber defence. It emphasizes the development of AI-enabled secure systems, enabling students to tackle emerging challenges where AI is used both for defence and as a tool in cyber-attacks. By combining strong theoretical foundations with practical and research-oriented learning, the program prepares graduates to contribute effectively to securing digital infrastructures across industries.


 The curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation in computer science, cyber security, and artificial intelligence, with a strong emphasis on their intersection. In the initial phase, students build core competencies in system security, network security, cryptography, and AI fundamentals. In the advanced stages, the program focuses on specialized topics such as AI techniques for cyber security, threat intelligence, secure system design, and the safety and security of AI-driven applications.

Through advanced coursework, laboratories, and research projects, students gain hands-on experience in identifying vulnerabilities, developing secure architectures, and implementing intelligent defence mechanisms. The program encourages innovation and research at the intersection of AI and cyber security, preparing graduates for roles such as Cyber Security Engineer, Security Architect, Cryptography Engineer, Security Analyst, and Research Scientist. It also provides a strong foundation for pursuing doctoral research and advanced careers in cyber security, AI, and related computing disciplines.

A candidate is eligible for admission to the MTech in Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence / Cyber Security  program if they possess any one of the following qualifications:

  • A 4-year undergraduate degree (BE/BTech.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or allied areas
  • a one- or two-year postgraduate degree (MSc/ MCA) in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or allied areas (Level 6.5 in NCRF)
  • A 5-year integrated Master’s program in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or allied areas (Level 6.5 in NCRF)

with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (or equivalent), with relaxation for reserved categories as per University norms, in the qualifying degree.

In addition, the candidate must satisfy at least one of the following:

  • A valid GATE score
  • A CUET-PG score in any of the following question paper codes: MTQP04, MTQP05; the cut-off score may be decided by the School
  • Qualification in the Digital University Aptitude Test

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: Research Engineer, Doctoral Studies, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Analysts, Developers, etc.

CYBER SECURITY ENGINEERING: The graduates of this program can get hired as Research Scientist, Principal Cryptographer, Cryptography Engineer, Cyber Security Architect, Security Analyst, Security Consultant, Chief Information Security Officer, Security Auditor etc. Further, graduates of this program will be able to pursue PhD research or a research career on the interplay between cyber security, AI and other computing disciplines.

MERIT-CUM-MEANS SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit Cum Means (MCM) Scholarship (except that of Flexible and Executive Masters Programs) 20% of the BPL category students eligible for MCM Scholarship from the University. The value of the scholarship shall be equivalent to 50% of their Tuition Fee for all semesters. The eligibility shall be based on the annual income of the parent and the merits of the students.
