MSc Ecology with Specialization in Ecological Informatics
MSc Ecology with specialisation in Ecological Informatics is a two-year full-time program that teaches Ecology in tandem with technology. Today’s ecological problems are increasingly complex and calls for real-time analysis of vast amounts of data. Specialisation in ecological informatics can help address these challenges by mastering the methods and developing the tools needed to translate complex data into usable information. Upon successful completion, the students will develop a holistic understanding of the relevant concepts in ecological sciences, identify appropriate computational methods, and use computational tools to analyse and understand critical theoretical, methodological and practical issues that underpin the flow of information within the biosphere. Students will develop analytical, decision-making, and data modelling skills critical for the job market and for pursuing ongoing research to solve complex problems
Career Prospects:
Graduates of the MSc Ecology programme with a specialization in Ecological Informatics are equipped to integrate ecological knowledge with computational tools, data analysis, and environmental modelling. They can pursue careers in academic research, environmental consulting, conservation organisations, government agencies, and data-driven environmental industries as ecological data analysts, biodiversity informatics specialists, GIS and remote sensing analysts, ecosystem modellers, wildlife researchers, and environmental monitoring specialists. The programme also prepares graduates for doctoral studies and research careers in ecology, biodiversity conservation, ecological modelling, and environmental data science, as well as professional roles supporting evidence-based conservation, environmental assessment, and sustainable ecosystem management.

MERIT-CUM-MEANS SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit Cum Means (MCM) Scholarship (except that of Flexible and Executive Masters Programs) 20% of the BPL category students eligible for MCM Scholarship from the University. The value of the scholarship shall be equivalent to 50% of their Tuition Fee for all semesters. The eligibility shall be based on the annual income of the parent and the merits of the students.
