The One-Year Master’s Programme in Environmental Sustainability

The One-Year Master’s Programme in Environmental Sustainability is an advanced, interdisciplinary postgraduate programme designed to address the pressing environmental and sustainability challenges of the 21st century. The programme integrates scientific understanding, analytical competence, and applied sustainability practice to prepare graduates for professional and research-oriented roles at national and global levels.  A distinctive feature of the programme is its strong focus on contemporary sustainability frameworks and practices, including net-zero pathways, circular economy principles, sustainability analytics, the economic dimensions of sustainability, lifecycle assessment (LCA), corporate sustainability strategies, and environmental regulatory frameworks. Learners are trained to apply data-driven, systems-based approaches to sustainability assessment, decision-making, and policy evaluation, in line with current international best practices

Career Prospects:

Graduates of the One-Year Master’s Programme in Environmental Sustainability will gain interdisciplinary knowledge, analytical skills, and practical competencies to pursue careers in government, industry, research, and international development sectors.  Career opportunities include Sustainability Analyst, Environmental Consultant, ESG Specialist, Climate and Net-Zero Analyst, Circular Economy Specialist, Sustainability Data Analyst, and Corporate Sustainability Manager. The training in lifecycle assessment (LCA), sustainability analytics, environmental policy, and regulatory frameworks also prepares graduates to contribute to sustainability reporting, environmental compliance, and corporate ESG strategies

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

4-year undergraduate degree with Honours/Honours with Research.

OR

4-year BE/BTech programme.

OR

1 Year or 2-year PG degree in a relevant subject

OR

5-year integrated Master’s programme in a relevant subject

Admission is based on the entrance examination. Prospective candidates aspiring to join this program are required to qualify the Digital University Admission Test (DUAT) 2026 or any national level test like CUCET PG 2026 (applicable test codes: SCQP01, SCQP02, SCQP07, SCQP08, SCQP09, SCQP11, SCQP14, SCQP15, SCQP16, SCQP17, SCQP19, SCQP24, SCQP27, SCQP28, SCQP29 ), valid GATE Score/JAM/ UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET etc

MERIT-CUM-MEANS SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit Cum Means (MCM) Scholarship (except that of Flexible and Executive Masters Programs) 20% of the BPL category students eligible for MCM Scholarship from the University. The value of the scholarship shall be equivalent to 50% of their Tuition Fee for all semesters. The eligibility shall be based on the annual income of the parent and the merits of the students.

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN: Opportunities for paid internships in real-life projects undertaken by the University will be available to a few top performing students from the 3rd semester onwards.
