Approved examinations may include CUET-PG, GATE, JAM, CAT, CMAT, KMAT, XAT, NMAT/GMAT, GRE, or other examinations approved by the University for the relevant programme.

Candidates who submitted applications through approved national-level entrance scores on or before 5 June 2026 will be considered for Phase 1 National Score Allotment, scheduled to begin on 8 June 2026.

PhD National-Level Examination Route

Candidates who have qualified in recognised national-level examinations such as UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET, GATE, CEED, or other equivalent examinations approved by the University may be considered through the national-level examination route, wherever applicable.

Such candidates are required to appear for the interview/viva-voce conducted by the respective School as part of the final selection process.

Selection will be subject to programme and School-level eligibility, availability of PhD vacancies in the relevant School or research area, verification of national-level examination qualification, reservation rules, interview/viva-voce performance and approval by the competent authority.

Final selection will be based on the notified PhD admission process, subject to eligibility, DRAT performance, interview/viva-voce performance, availability of vacancies, reservation rules and approval by the competent authority.

There is no Phase 2 admission process for DRAT-based PhD admissions. PhD admissions through DRAT will be processed based on the notified admission schedule and availability of vacancies.

Rules and important notes

These points apply across allotment rounds unless a programme-specific notification states otherwise.

Reservation and category-wise allotment

All allotments will follow the approved reservation rules of the University.

Candidates claiming reservation benefits must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format. If a candidate fails to produce valid supporting documents, the University may revise or cancel the allotment.

Reserved-category candidates who secure allotment under the General category based on merit will be counted under the General category and will not consume reserved-category seats.

Token fee payment

Candidates who receive provisional allotment must pay the applicable token fee within the deadline shown in the admission portal.

The token fee is adjustable against the first-semester tuition fee.

Failure to pay the token fee within the prescribed deadline may result in cancellation of the allotment. The seat may then be offered to the next eligible candidate in subsequent counselling rounds.

Candidates should make payment only through the official admission portal.

Waitlist and further rounds

Candidates who are not allotted a seat in an earlier round may remain under consideration for later rounds, subject to eligibility, merit, category, programme preference, admission route and availability of seats.

A candidate may be removed from active consideration if the candidate declines an offer, fails to pay the token fee within the deadline, fails eligibility or document verification, withdraws the application, or does not respond to official communication within the prescribed time.

Important notes
  1. All allotments are provisional until eligibility, entrance scores, documents, reservation claims and fee payment are verified.
  2. Admission through National Score, DUAT, DRAT, or the PhD national-level route does not guarantee allotment.
  3. Allotment depends on merit, eligibility, reservation rules, programme preference and availability of seats.
  4. Programme-specific selection stages such as skill assessment, group discussion, interview, School-level procedure, or department-level test must be completed wherever applicable.
  5. The University reserves the right to revise or cancel allotment if any information submitted by the candidate is found to be incorrect, incomplete, or unsupported by valid documents.
  6. The decision of the University shall be final in matters relating to eligibility, allotment, reservation, document verification and admission.
