Establishment of Innovation Club – DUK

Inaugurated during the first DUKInnoFest, in the very first year of establishment of DUK.
Inspired by the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, the Innovation Club DUK was formed to support the students’ creativity and innovation. The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) established on the campus empowers the activities of the club, providing it with the right vision and direction. The club supports students’ innovation through various innovation support programs such as Cisco’s thingQbator Cohort program, the Young Innovators Program (YIP) designed by KDISC, Darsana’s IGNITE program, etc. The students get the opportunity to tinker with their ideas and validate them with the support of the thingQbator maker space established on the campus by Cisco. Promising ideas are further supported with the help of the incubators established by DUK to bloom and flourish as a startup.
All the activities of the club are managed by a dynamic team of students. To further connect the students to other campuses in the state, an IEDC is also established on the campus, which is also led by the Innovation Club student leads. A core tech team is also formed by the students of the Innovation Club, which works on social innovation and product development activities. This in turn creates opportunities for other students to work on real-time projects and earn through the Earn While You Learn (EWYL) scheme implemented on the campus.
